Now or Never: Melbourne Set to Host Electrifying 17-Day Music Festival This Summer

Melbourne is set to host an electrifying music festival this summer. Now Or Never is a seventeen day extravaganza, bringing together some of today’s most groundbreaking artists from around the globe. From August 17th to September 2nd, Royal Exhibition Centre will be the epicentre of cutting edge music, art and culture.

The first lineup announcement features Kelela, Serpentwithfeet and Autechre. The event is curated by the Semi Permanent team and their Never Permanent event on August 24th promises to be an extraordinary display of “thought-provoking keynote speakers and panel sessions featuring leading creative visionaries”.

The festival is shaping up to be quite the treat, with performances from Actress and Max Cooper – the latter of which will be shown in 3D – as well as traditional performances from Autechre and Giant Swan. On August 25th, the Untitled Group will host a show headlined by German house and techno producer Âme, with additional performances from Axel Bowman, Ayebatonye, CC:DISCO! and Dameeeela. To cap off the first announcement, Kelela will headline an exclusive show on Sunday August 27th with support from Serpentwithfeet.

The cultural significance of this festival is not lost on the Mayor of Naarm, Sally Capp. She said: “Now Or Never will bring large-scale live music back to the [venue] with an unmissable line-up that celebrates our incredible homegrown talent, alongside ground-breaking work from international artists. It will be an unmissable addition to our bustling events calendar this winter – cementing Melbourne’s reputation as Australia’s cultural capital, providing a boost to the local economy and supporting jobs.”
