British metalcore band Bring Me The Horizon have released their new single ‘AmEN!’, featuring guest appearances from rapper Lil Uzi Vert and Daryl Palumbo of Glassjaw. The track was debuted at the band’s show in Budapest last night (June 1).

Frontman Oli Sykes’ signature howling scream and Uzi’s rap verse combine for a powerful track that tackles the theme of extra-religious hypocrisy. The opening verse reads: “I hope you have fun/ Rotting in hell!/ Swim the witch/ Slay the infidel!/ Suck a dick heretic!/ I hate you! & I’d like to see you/ Burn, burn, burn!”

Speaking to BBC Radio 1’s Clara Amfo, Sykes said that ‘AmEN!’ is a “really good representation” of the sound of the band’s upcoming album or EP. He also shared that he feels this song is “more honest” and likened it to “a therapy session with myself”.

The new single follows the release of ‘LosT’ last month and is the latest of a string of releases from the rock outfit. Earlier this month, they launched a YouTube series titled BMTHS5: Post Human EU, which documented their European headline tour that finished in February. The tour also served as an opportunity for the band to work on new music in a studio built into the back of their tour bus with producer Zakk Cervini.

Lil Uzi Vert recently appeared as a surprise guest with Paramore at Madison Square Garden to perform ‘Misery Business’. Bring Me The Horizon’s 2020 EP ‘Post Human: Survival Horror’ received critical acclaim, with NME giving it four stars.
