Experience World-Class Music, Art & Culture at Melbourne’s Now Or Never Festival

Melbourne is set to host a brand new music festival this August and September, entitled Now or Never. Featuring a host of internationally renowned acts, the festival is set to be one of the highlights of the year.
The line-up will be headlined by the likes of Kelela, Serpentwithfeet and Autechre, and will be held at the city’s iconic Royal Exhibition Centre – the first time it has been used for concerts in more than two decades.
The festival will span 17 days from Thursday August 17 to Saturday September 2, and will feature an eventful programme of live music, art and culture.
The first event to be announced is Never Permanent, which will take place on Thursday August 24, and will be curated by the team behind creative design and technology festival Semi Permanent. The line-up will include keynote speakers and panel sessions featuring leading creative visionaries.
Murray Bell, founder of Semi Permanent, said: “This line-up for Never Permanent is shaping up to be one of our best yet, and we’re thrilled for this to be a part of Now Or Never.”
On the same night, Orchestra Victoria will host an interpretation of Steve Reich’s Music For 18 Musicians, accompanied by a 16-metre-high video presentation developed by multimedia artist Jesse Woolston.
The following night will feature an audiovisual presentation from Actress and Max Cooper, with the latter also being shown in 3D.
Saturday August 26 will give fans the chance to see German house and techno producer Âme, with additional performances from Axel Bowman, Ayebatonye, CC:DISCO! and Dameeeela.
Closing out the first line-up announcement is Kelela’s exclusive show on Sunday August 27, supported by Serpentwithfeet.
