Legendary rocker Rod Stewart has announced that he’s calling time on his long-running rock ‘n’ roll career and switching to a different style of music. In a recent interview with BBC Breakfast, the singer revealed that he is looking to transition from rock to swing music.
The recording artist explained he was not retiring, but was eager to explore new musical avenues. Stewart revealed he was looking forward to working on his new swing album with Jools Holland, which is expected to be released next year.
The move is a bold one from the 74-year-old rocker, who has been performing for over 50 years. But Stewart has always been known for his willingness to take risks, and his fans are sure to be excited to hear his new sound.
In addition to his switch to swing music, Stewart has also shown his commitment to helping others. Back in February, Stewart visited his local NHS hospital in Harlow, Essex and paid for a day’s worth of MRI scans to help reduce the waiting lists.
The musician said he wanted to prove he was not “all mouth and no trousers” after his comments about the state of the NHS earlier this year. He also said he wanted to pay for scans elsewhere in the UK.
Stewart’s generous donation cut the hospital waiting list for MRI scans by 10 percent, resulting in 20 patients being able to receive their scans that day.
The rock star’s selfless act of kindness has earned him the admiration of many. It has also shown his fans that he is more than just an entertainer, but also a generous human being.
