Legendary performer Elton John stunned the crowd at Glastonbury last night with an astounding career-spanning set. The show, which was his final UK show ever, opened with a cover of The Who’s Pinball Wizard. The setlist included some of his biggest hits like Rocket Man, Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me, and I’m Still Standing.

John had a few surprise guests join him throughout the night, including Brandon Flowers, who John first met in 2005 when he was playing in Las Vegas. John also introduced Rina Sawayama, who joined him for a rendition of Don’t Go Breaking My Heart, which John previously sang with Kiki Dee. 20-year-old Nashville-based songwriter Stephen Sanchez was also invited on stage to perform his song Until I Found You. Jacob Lusk from the band Gabriels also joined John to perform Are You Ready For Love? with the London Community Gospel Choir.

John also paid a heartwarming tribute to George Michael, who would have been 60 years old yesterday, by singing Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me. The gig was one of the Pyramid Stage’s biggest ever crowds and it ended with Rocket Man and fireworks.

Many of the revellers in the crowd wore costumes, glasses, and sequins in honour of the legendary performer, which John thanked them for at the end of the set. He reflected on the incredible 52 years of love and loyalty he had experienced, saying he would never forget the audience.

It was a memorable evening for all those in attendance as the crowd danced and sang along to some of Elton John’s classic hits. It is sure to be one of Glastonbury’s best-ever headline sets.
