Slipknot Reveals New Keyboardist: Is It Zac Baird or Nathan Church?

Slipknot fans around the world were left in shock when long-time keyboardist and sampler Craig Jones left the band last month. Though the identity of his replacement was still unknown to many, a recent photo posted by Michael “Tortilla Man” Pfaff on social media may have revealed the new member of the band.

The backstage selfie, which has since been deleted, was taken at a recent Slipknot show and featured Pfaff standing in front of a clothing rack labelled with the first names of the band members. One tag appeared to read “Zac”, leading many to speculate that Zac Baird – who has played keys and samplers for bands such as Korn, Ghost and Evanescence – is the new addition to the group.

Another possibility is Nathan Church, who has a long history with Slipknot. He was a member of the band Downthesun, who were signed to Slipknot’s label Maggot Corps, and the group’s sole 2002 self-titled album was executive produced by Shawn “Clown” Crahan.

Though the identity of Slipknot’s new keyboardist has yet to be officially confirmed, fans got a chance to see the mystery musician in action at Download Festival and at their own Knotfest Italy in Bologna.

The heavy metal band released their seventh studio album, The End, So Far, last September and have been touring the world since then. With this new addition, fans of the band are sure to be even more excited for what’s to come.
