Nick Cave and Kylie Minogue have remained close friends since their iconic collaboration on the 1995 track ‘Where The Wild Roses Grow’. On the song, Cave and Minogue sing a duet about a murder ballad, a daring concept for the pop star at the time.
In a recent interview with Louis Theroux, Cave admitted that he was “high for sure” when the two performed the song on Top of the Pops. Cave also commented on Minogue’s bravery for taking on the song, with her management initially concerned about the Bad Seeds frontman’s “dark drug-addicted monstrosities.”
Cave recently teamed up with Blondie for a cover of The Gun Club’s ‘On The Other Side’, which is the first single from the fourth volume of the Jeffrey Lee Pierce Sessions Project. The single features the two singers, joined by Cypress Grove on guitar, Bad Seed Warren Ellis on synthesisers and Guido Benigni on bass guitar.
The 65-year-old also revealed news of two of his novels being adapted for the small screen. The Death of Bunny Munro is the first, with an adaptation of And The Ass Saw The Angel on the way too.
In other exciting music news, Minogue recently celebrated the release of her 35th UK Top 10 hit, ‘Padam Padam’, which is from her upcoming 16th album, ‘Tension’. Minogue also teased the possibility of a collaboration with Madonna, revealing that she “would love to” join forces with the pop icon.
