Canadian rocker Bryan Adams showed his cool composure after a fan joined him onstage during a show in Salt Lake City, Utah, to perform ‘Summer Of 69’.
Adams’ gig was interrupted as the fan jumped up on stage and attempted to take over the microphone. While security quickly removed the fan from the stage, Adams stepped back and allowed the fan to sing the opening lines of the song. The fan managed to belt out the lyrics “Bought it at the five and dime / played until” before being taken away.
Adams took the incident in stride and continued from where the fan left off, finishing the lyrics of the classic track. He posted a video of the incident on his Instagram account with the caption “Sometimes you just gotta laugh.” The post garnered a lot of attention from fans and celebrities alike. Supermodel Linda Evangelista commented “You laughed at me same way when I tried unsuccessfully to get near your stage.” Other celebrities such as Questlove and Simple Plan frontman Pierre Bouvier also praised the singer’s professionalism.
Adam’s response to the fan’s antics is in stark contrast to recent events at other concerts. Singer Bebe Rexha was recently hit in the head by a fan’s phone and had to get stitches while Pink was stunned by a fan throwing their mother’s ashes on stage and Lil Nas X had to pause a show when a fan threw a sex toy on stage. It’s a reminder for fans to show respect to the artists they love and not to disrupt their shows.
