Australian rockers DMA’s have just released a stunning live video from their recent session at Frying Pan Studios, located at the Museum of Old and New Art (Mona) in lutruwita/Tasmania.
The band took advantage of the studio’s dedicated video suite to record the track ‘Something We Are Overcoming’ off their 2023 album, ‘How Many Dreams?’. The track is now available on streaming services and fans can watch the moving live video below.
Frying Pan Studios opened earlier this year and has been designed to allow filming in its expansive recording booth, complete with controllable coloured lighting and beautiful natural light that streams in from the floor to ceiling windows overlooking the bush. The studio is also home to the iconic REDD.17 recording, mixing and mastering console which was used to record albums by The Beatles, Pink Floyd, The White Stripes and Tame Impala.
Recently, DMA’s took out the top spot in Triple J’s Like a Version Hottest 100 with their cover of Cher’s ‘Believe’, and guitarist Johnny Took has also recently launched his own studio, Small Time Studios, in Naarm/Melbourne.
The band will be touring Australia in September, playing 16 dates across the country. Tickets and information for the DMA’s Australia 2023 tour are available now.
