Keanu Reeves’ alt-rock band Dogstar have made a triumphant return to the music scene with the announcement of their first album in 23 years, ‘Somewhere Between the Power Lines and Palm Trees’, as well as their upcoming tour. They have also shared their lead single ‘Everything Turns Around’, a song with an uplifting message and a positive vibe that will surely make your day a little brighter.
The 90s band – composed of guitarist and vocalist Bret Domrose, drummer Rob Mailhouse, and bassist Keanu Reeves – formed in the early 90s and went on to release their debut album ‘Our Little Visionary’ in 1996, followed by their second album ‘Happy Ending’ in 2000. Unfortunately, the band split up a few years later.
This third LP will be released on October 6 via their label Dillon Street Records. To get your hands on the album, pre-order now.
To celebrate the return of Dogstar, the band are hitting the road on August 10, beginning in Hermosa Beach, California. They will then make their way through the west coast before playing a few shows in Japan in September. The North American tour will begin on November 30 and finish on December 20 in Nashville. Get your tickets for all North American shows from July 21 at 10am local time.
As fans of Dogstar, you’ll be pleased to know that they reunited back in May and played their first gig in two decades at BottleRock festival. At the show, the band debuted new music alongside songs from their first two albums, with Reeves expressing his love for the band and wanting to protect it.
The actor has also recently revealed his favorite band of the moment to be Canadian indie group Alvvays. While Reeves admits he has not yet purchased their latest album ‘Blue Rev’ on vinyl, he praises their work for its invention and great textures.
