Post Malone took to the streets of New York City to surprise fans with an impromptu pop-up concert in Times Square on Monday (July 18). The “Mourning” singer had been in Buffalo for a show the day before and decided to make a pitstop in the city to perform some of his biggest hits, debuting some new material from his upcoming fifth album ‘Austin’.

Post Malone became the first ever artist to grace the TSX stage, located in the center of Times Square, and couldn’t believe he was there, admitting he was “super nervous” and “super excited” to play songs from his upcoming album. He treated fans to a selection of his hits, including ‘Sunflower’ and ‘Circles’, as well as some brand new tracks like ‘Mourning’, ‘Overdrive’, ‘Chemical’ and ‘Enough Is Enough’.

The Texan rapper also took a moment to jam with Militarie Gun frontman Ian Shelton backstage, performing their song ‘Do It Faster’ together and igniting speculation that the two could be collaborating soon.

Malone’s fifth studio album ‘Austin’ is due out July 28. It was previously reported that the rapper had wanted to make a more acoustic-driven record, but his label president revealed at an exclusive album playback that Post had changed his mind and decided to go with a different sound.

The surprise performance in Times Square was a great way for Post Malone to get fans excited for the release of the album and the anticipation is growing as the release date draws ever closer.
