BTS’ Jungkook has showcased a stunning cover of Oasis’ ‘Let There Be Love’ on BBC Radio One Live Lounge.

The K-pop star took to the UK radio programme earlier today (July 20) to perform his hit single ‘Seven’, before surprising fans with his rendition of the iconic Britpop track.

The 25-year-old’s cover of the 2005 hit had a much more sombre feel – beginning with a gentle piano melody before gradually introducing guitars and violins throughout.

The show’s presenter, Katie Thistleton, was taken aback by the performance, saying: “I could not have predicted that you would do an Oasis classic and I had no idea how it was going to be. It was beautiful. That was actually quite emotional.”

Fans of Jungkook and BTS shared their love for the cover on social media, with one fan writing: “I didn’t expect to cry from this!!! What a beautiful cover.”

This is not the first time Jungkook or BTS have performed for BBC Radio One Live Lounge. In 2021, they performed a variety of their own tracks, as well as a cover of Puff Daddy and Faith Evans’ ‘I’ll Be Missing You’.

The K-pop group is currently on a hiatus while members undertake mandatory military service, with the band expected to reform in 2025.

Jungkook discussed his thoughts on the upcoming reunion on the show, saying: “It’s good that we all have time to grow individually through our solo projects that reflect our own tastes. After this time of personal growth, our synergy will be much more powerful as one team. I can’t wait to perform on stage with all our BTS members.”

The singer also thanked fans for their constant support, adding: “I know how much love and support you’re sending me and I can’t thank you enough. Love you all.”

Meanwhile, it appears that Jungkook is on track to top the UK singles charts with the release of ‘Seven’ last week (July 14). According to Billboard, the track is 2,000 chart sales behind the current leader on the midweek chart.

In a four-star review of the single, Rhian Daly of NME called ‘Seven’ “a summer-ready bop that also adds new facets to the singer’s artistry.”
