Political punk legends Anti-Flag have shockingly split up, leaving fans stunned without any kind of explanation. The band suddenly deleted all of their official social media accounts and website, leaving no explanation or reason for the break-up.

The band made the announcement of their split via Patreon, saying that all current patrons will be refunded and the page removed. Anti-Flag formed in 1988 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania with frontman Justin Geever, aka Justin Sane, and drummer Pat Thetic. Since then, they have released 13 albums, including their debut ‘Die For The Government’ in 1996.

The punk group gained a reputation for their outspoken left-wing politics and activism for causes such as Amnesty International and Greenpeace. They also founded and ran their own indie label, A-F Records, which released music from Anti-Flag and other bands in the punk scene.

Their most recent album was the 2020 LP ‘Lies They Tell Our Children’, which topped the German Album Charts at number 6. This was to be followed by a North American tour later this year, but has since been cancelled due to the split.

The end of this iconic band marks a sad day for punk music, with fans all over the world still in shock at the sudden disbandment.
