Polaris Announces Release of Upcoming Album FATALISM and Tour In Memory Of Late Guitarist Ryan Siew

Australian rock band Polaris have announced they will be honoring the memory of their late guitarist Ryan Siew by continuing the release of their upcoming album FATALISM and associated tour.

The news was shared on Polaris’s social media accounts on Thursday, July 20th, and the band wrote that the songs they had written together with Ryan had not changed in their meaning or love despite the tragedy.

A release date for FATALISM has been set for Friday, September 1st, with the band having already shared the single Inhumane in May.

The tour will begin in Perth on Thursday, September 7th at Metro City, followed by dates in Melbourne, Adelaide, Newcastle, Brisbane and Sydney. Polaris will then embark on a North American tour in October, for which tickets are now available.

Polaris has since expressed its anger at attempts to enquire about the band’s search for Ryan Siew’s replacement. A call was made to Eora/Sydney record store Resist Records, asking about the rumours, prompting the band to remind the public to respect their privacy during this time of mourning.

Ryan Siew passed away on Monday, June 19th, while the band were on tour in Europe. He had joined Polaris in 2013 after they released their debut EP Dichotomy.

The band are now asking for fans to show their support for FATALISM and its tour, which promises to be a fitting tribute for Ryan Siew and his contribution to Polaris.
