Legendary British rockers Blur have released two new tracks from their highly anticipated deluxe LP ‘The Ballad Of Darren’. Listeners can expect a signature Blur sound with the single ‘The Rabbi’ being a vibrant and upbeat track, while its companion ‘The Swan’ is a mellow ballad.
The fourth studio album from the band since 2003’s ‘Think Tank’ was released on July 21st and has been met with critical acclaim. Fans have praised the album for its thoughtful lyrics and light-hearted moments, while some have commented on the sense of unity amongst the four members of the band.
Blur have already had a series of successful performances, including two nights at Wembley Stadium and a special BBC Radio Theatre show. In addition, the band is set to perform the full album at an intimate livestreamed gig tomorrow (July 25th) at London’s Eventim Apollo in Hammersmith. Bassist Alex James recently spoke about returning to the band after spending time parenting, claiming that being in Blur was “the easiest thing” compared to raising children. He further shared that being back in the Blur bubble was a much needed break for him.
Blur have been an influential force in the music world since their formation in 1988, and the release of ‘The Ballad Of Darren’ is sure to be another successful milestone in their career. Fans can expect more tour dates later in the year, with the band set to head off on a series of European festival dates and appearances in Asia and South America.
