S Club have announced the release of their new single, ‘These Are The Days’, this week in honor of their late bandmate Paul Cattermole. The group, formerly known as S Club 7, now consists of Tina Barrett, Jon Lee, Bradley McIntosh, Jo O’Meara and Rachel Stevens.
The track is said to sound like a classic that will fit in with their earlier hits. It was written by Cathy Dennis, Simon Ellis, Johanne Ellis and producer John Nathaniel. The accompanying video will show the five-piece band as they are today and will end with an emotional tribute to Cattermole.
The release comes weeks after the announcement of their upcoming reunion tour, which has already sold out. S Club: The Good Times Tour will be taking place in the UK.
Cattermole passed away on April 6, 2023, and his management released a heartfelt statement to confirm the news. They said: “We are truly devastated by the passing of our brother Paul. There are no words to describe the deep sadness and loss we all feel. We were so lucky to have had him in our lives and are thankful for the amazing memories we have. He will be so deeply missed by each and every one of us. We ask that you respect the privacy of his family and of the band at this time.”
Hannah Spearritt, who previously dated Cattermole, will not be joining the tour. She will be releasing her memoir, Face The Music, in the Autumn.
S Club’s new single ‘These Are The Days’ is set for release on Wednesday, July 26. It is sure to be an emotional tribute to their former bandmate and friend.
