The Walkmen have announced the exciting conclusion to their tour. On October 17th in Brooklyn, New York, the indie rockers will be washing 100 cars outside of the Kings Theatre for the first 500 ticket buyers. All five members of the band will be taking part in the car wash, with each member assigned a specific task. Paul Maroon will be in charge of hoods and trunks, Walt Martin on glass and chrome, Hamilton Leithauser washing wheels and hubcaps, Matt Barrick on bumpers and grills, and Peter Bauer tackling roofs.
The band shared their enthusiasm for the idea on Twitter, saying “there is no way this isn’t a great idea.” The Walkmen have also added a number of tour dates leading up to their final show in Brooklyn, including dates in Washington, DC, Cincinnati, Ohio, Nashville, Tennessee, Minneapolis, Minnesota, Denver, Colorado, Garden City, Idaho, Seattle, Washington, Portland, Oregon, Oakland, California, Los Angeles, California, Dallas, Texas, Austin, Texas, Toronto, Canada, Boston, Massachusetts, and Asbury Park, New Jersey.
In addition to their tour dates, the band will be performing at the All Points East festival on August 25th alongside The Strokes and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Girl In Red, Amyl and The Sniffers, Angel Olsen, Black Midi, Julie, HotWax and Nieve Ella are also set to perform.
Recently, The Walkmen gave an outstanding performance at the Webster Hall in Manhattan and brought the crowd a roaring 22-song setlist.
