K-pop fans, rejoice! Former SISTAR member Soyou has revealed that the beloved girl group is likely to reunite in the near future.

During a promotional event for the release of her second mini-album ‘Summer Vibe’, which was held at the Ilchi Art Hall in Seoul, Soyou opened up about the possibility of SISTAR reuniting. The girl group, which was formed in 2010 and consisted of Soyou, Bora, Hyolyn and Dasom, disbanded in 2017 after scoring nine-straight Number One singles on the South Korean Circle Chart.

Speaking at the event, Soyou said that the four former members of SISTAR “always talk about performing as a group again” whenever they meet up. “We all miss SISTAR,” Soyou said. “To repay the love and support from our fans, we will definitely reunite and perform together one day. That’s happening for sure.”

However, Soyou noted that it has been difficult for the quartet to find the right timing for the reunion, as the members are all currently busy with their own individual activities. “It may mean we have to postpone our individual promotions to accommodate the group’s reunion plans, and we don’t want to cause any inconvenience to one another.”

The girl group had briefly reunited in 2022 for the final episode of live music show Yoo Hee Yeol’s Sketchbook. Before that, former members Hyolyn and Dasom had collaborated in August 2021 for their single ‘Summer Or Summer’.

SISTAR has won the hearts of K-pop fans all over the world with their string of hits, and the news of a reunion is sure to bring joy to many. Here’s hoping that the reunion happens sooner rather than later, and that the group can once again bring us the infectious energy of their music.
