Paramore and their frontwoman Hayley Williams have had a difficult few weeks on their North American tour. Last Saturday, the rock band had to postpone their San Francisco gig just hours before they were set to take the stage. They then went on to cancel three further gigs in Seattle, Portland, and Salt Lake City due to illness.
Now, Hayley has addressed fans and discussed the issues with staying fit and healthy on tour. She revealed that she became ill during a Houston gig earlier this month and had to “muscle all the way through” their Los Angeles gig before her body gave out.
In her statement, Hayley acknowledges that touring is different now than it was in her teens and twenties, where it was a “perfect distraction” from her own mind. She expressed that this tour has done her heart a lot of good, as she is constantly revived by the faces she sees when they walk onstage.
Paramore are currently touring in support of their recent sixth album, ‘This Is Why’, which was met with much acclaim. The band will be heading to Europe as a supporting act on Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour, kicking off in May 2024.
For fans of Paramore, the band’s struggles on tour are sure to be a cause of concern. However, Hayley’s statement reassures fans that she is doing her best to stay healthy throughout the tour, and that Paramore are still at the top of their game.
