Legendary musician Paul McCartney is embarking on a tour of Australia for the first time in six years, and fans of the former Beatle have been eagerly anticipating the announcement. On August 1, McCartney took to social media to confirm his six-show run in October and November of 2023.

“Hey, G’day Australia. Paul McCartney here, I’m coming down to see you in October with my ‘Got Back’ tour. Haven’t been back since 2017, very excited to come down and see all you Aussies,” he said in an announcement video on YouTube.

The tour will kick off in Adelaide, before heading to Melbourne, Newcastle, Sydney (with two shows) and Brisbane. The Sydney shows have now sold out, however tickets will be available for the other shows via Ticketmaster and Frontier Touring.

Fans cannot wait to see the legendary singer-songwriter live in Australia. The tour will mark McCartney’s first shows down under since 2017, and his first live performances since his headline slot at Glastonbury 2022. McCartney last toured Australia with The Beatles in 1964, and then again with Wings in 1975 and 1993.

The announcement of this tour comes after McCartney and Steven Spielberg were spotted at a screening of Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer in the Hamptons. All signs point to a thrilling tour for McCartney fans, and we can’t wait to see what he has in store!
