Coldplay, the beloved British rock band that has sold over 100 million albums worldwide, has recently announced the addition of seven dates to their upcoming 2024 European tour.
The ‘Music of The Spheres’ tour, featuring stops in Italy, France, Germany, Austria and more, is the band’s greenest tour to date, producing 47% less carbon emissions than their 2016/17 stadium tour, according to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
The band has also recently been in the news for a contractual dispute with their former manager, Dave Holmes, who has reportedly filed a legal case against the band. Although the legal documents are not yet public, a representative for Coldplay confirmed that the group and manager parted ways a year ago after working together for 22 years.
The band is now being managed by a team composed of Phil Harvey, Mandi Frost and Arlene Moon, who have collaborated with the band and Holmes for many years.
Coldplay has also seen great success with their releases on the label Warner Music Group. 2014’s Ghost Stories, the album that produced ‘Magic’ and ‘A Sky Full of Stars’, was the band’s first release on the label. The group also have three of the top 50 best-selling albums in the UK, as well as nine Number One albums in the same country.
NME praised the members of Coldplay for their captivating performance during their London gig, alongside their focus on sustainability and inclusivity. The band seemed genuinely thrilled with the reaction of the audience, and the article described the show as a “masterclass in how a massive pop show can be done.”
Fans of Coldplay are sure to be looking forward to the upcoming tour, with the additional dates adding even more excitement. The tour is set to kick off in the summer of 2024, and will be a great opportunity to experience the band’s classic hits live.
