Miley Cyrus has just released a brand new single, ‘Used To Be Young’, and announced a TV special that will follow. The single marks the first new material from the artist since her eighth album, ‘Endless Summer Vacation’, and the music video will drop on August 25. In addition, limited edition seven-inch vinyls are available for pre-order.
In a heartfelt message to her fans, Cyrus expressed her gratitude for their unwavering support. “This song is dedicated to my loyal fans,” she wrote. “I love YOU for loving every version of ME.” The singer had been teasing the upcoming track with a series of posters, referencing some of her past musical eras.
In an interview with British Vogue, Cyrus recited a line from ‘Used To Be Young’: “I know I used to be crazy/ I know I used to be fun/ You say I used to be wild/ I say I used to be young.” She shared how a songwriter had approached her with a party-themed track, inspiring her to write about her changed lifestyle since becoming sober.
Cyrus’s new TV special, Endless Summer Vacation: Continued (Backyard Sessions), will air on ABC on August 24. This will be the follow-up to the live documentary Backyard Sessions. The singer had previously taken a hiatus from touring, explaining in a note to her fans that it was not best for her at the time.
The artist has earned multiple nominations for the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards, including ‘Song Of The Year’ for ‘Flowers’. Fans of Miley Cyrus can look forward to this new creative content from the singer, and a celebration of her incredible career so far.
