The Strokes and Weyes Blood recently teamed up for a rare performance of their track ‘Modern Girls & Old Fashioned Men’. Fans of the iconic New York band were in for a special treat when the American singer joined the band on stage to perform the lesser-played track at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre.

This marks the first time the song was played on The Strokes’ current tour, and the second time it had been aired out in 20 years. The 2004 song originally appeared as the B-side to their ‘Reptilia’ single, and was released in collaboration with Regina Spektor.

The collaboration came five songs into the 19-track setlist, and was made even more special for the fans attending. After the show, Weyes Blood took to Instagram to share images from the show and thank the band for letting her join them mid-performance.

The Strokes also played numerous fan favourites, including “Is This It?”, “Soma”, “Hard to Explain”, and more. They kicked off the live set with back-to-back renditions of ‘The Modern Age’, ‘Bad Decisions’ and ‘Automatic Stop’. The band’s setlist also included ‘Someday’, ‘Red Light’, ‘Ize of the World’, ‘Evening Sun’, ‘Juicebox’, ‘Under Control’, ‘Meet Me in the Bathroom’, ‘Reptilia’, ‘You Only Live Once’, ‘Call It Fate, Call It Karma’, and ‘What Ever Happened?’

The performance was their first in Colorado in 17 years, and followed on from a series of live shows held across Asia. This special show was part of their All Points East festival, and they will be joined by Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Girl In Red, Amyl & The Sniffers and more.
