K-pop girl group (G)I-DLE are set to release their first fully English EP ‘HEAT’ next month in collaboration with Asian-focused music label 88rising, but the date has now been delayed.
The EP was originally scheduled for release in September but the recording process has been extended in order to ensure the best possible quality for the group’s fans. 88rising and CUBE Entertainment, (G)I-DLE’s label, have confirmed the new release date as October 5, 5 PM PST / October 6, 9 AM KST.
The lead single off the EP, ‘I Do’, dropped in July and was accompanied by a sci-fi themed music video featuring an extraterrestrial falling in love with a human. A second music video was released shortly after, starring actors Tu Tontawan Tantivejakul and Dew Jirawat Sutivanisak from GMMTV’s 2021 series F4 Thailand: Boys Over Flowers.
As well as releasing HEAT, (G)I-DLE have also made waves in the fashion industry. Member Miyeon was recently announced as Jimmy Choo’s new global brand ambassador, and will be featured in the fashion house’s upcoming Fall 2023 campaign.
The group will be kicking off the European leg of their 2023 ‘I Am FREE-TY’ world tour in early-September. The tour will visit London, Paris, Berlin, and more. Tickets for the shows are available now.
