Lizzo’s ‘Big Grrl’ and ‘Big Boiiis’ dancers have come together to express their appreciation for the singer after contentious legal proceedings. Last month, three of her former dancers, Crystal Williams, Arianna Davis, and Noelle Rodriguez, accused Lizzo of creating a hostile work environment and engaging in inappropriate behavior. Alongside Lizzo, her dance team captain Shirlene Quigley and production company Big Grrrl Big Touring Inc. were also named as defendants in the suit.
The singer then responded and denied the accusations, and hired Marty Singer, attorney of notable cases such as Jonah Hill, Johnny Depp, and Bill Cosby. After the conclusion of Lizzo’s ‘Special Tour’, her remaining dancers issued a joint statement praising the singer.
The statement thanked Lizzo for “creating a platform where we have been able to parallel our Passion with a purpose.” The dancers continued to express their gratitude for being able to “share the stage with such amazing talent” and acknowledged that the tour was “one of the Greatest lessons and Blessings”. Furthermore, the dancers commended Lizzo for “shattering limitations and kicking in the door way for Big Grrrl & Big Boiii Dancers to do what we love”.
Separately, the lawyer representing the three dancers who are suing Lizzo for sexual harassment and creating a hostile work environment revealed that his firm is reviewing at least six new complaints against the singer. These new allegations detail a “sexually charged environment” and failure to pay employees.
Williams and Rodriguez later stated in an interview that they attempted to “settle” the disagreement “in-house” before filing a lawsuit, but were met with a “rebuttal” from Lizzo’s team. Marty Singer, Lizzo’s attorney, called the lawsuit “specious”, and the singer herself expressed that she was “hurt” by the “sensationalised” accusations.
As the legal proceedings continue, Lizzo’s ‘Big Grrl’ and ‘Big Boiiis’ dancers have come together to express their admiration for the singer and her contribution to their success.
