Heavy metal band Pantera recently took the stage in Texas for their first headline show in 22 years. The revamped band was joined by Lamb of God’s Randy Blythe and Dimebag Darrell’s longtime girlfriend, Rita Haney, to perform their classic track ‘Walk’.
The band announced their reunion in July 2022 with Zakk Wylde on guitar and Charlie Benante on drums, taking the place of the late Abbott brothers, Dimebag and Vinnie Paul. For their first show back, Pantera struck a chord with fans, performing favorites such as ‘Slaughtered’ and ‘Revolution Is My Name’.
The band is currently supporting Metallica on their M72 stadium tour, celebrating the release of their latest album. The tour is a tribute to Dimebag Darrell and Vinnie Paul, who sadly passed away in 2004 and 2018, respectively. Rita Haney paid tribute to her late partner for the 15th anniversary of his death, thanking fans for “loving him and remembering him”.
Pantera’s return to the stage is a welcome sight for heavy metal fans, and their Texas performance shows that they still have the same energy and passion that has made them one of the most beloved metal bands of all time.
