Easy Life frontman Murray Matravers has opened up about the band’s remarkable success and their own definition of what it means to be successful. Speaking to a music publication this past weekend at Reading Festival 2023, Matravers discussed the accomplishments they’ve achieved in such a short time, playing on bigger stages and amassing a large fan base.
“If you had asked me two or three years ago, I would’ve said ‘huge gigs, international acclaim, and being famous’. But now, I don’t want that. For me, success is being happy with what you do, and being healthy in both body and mind,” he said. Matravers has been doing a lot of work on himself to help figure out what success means and has come to the realization that health and happiness are the most important aspects.
The band is currently working on their next album, but to keep fans entertained they have chosen to release some of their unreleased songs such as ‘ultimate jutsu’. Matravers shared that this approach helps to relieve pressure and that the band is in a good spot right now.
Back in February, Easy Life’s Alexandra Palace gig was praised by a music news publication with a five-star review. They were described as an “unlikely boy band” who threw a “hectic house party” and their anthems of perseverance were said to be timely and powerful. The band regrettably had to cancel their tour dates due to high costs.
As Easy Life continues to progress, they are setting the bar for what success looks like and inspiring fans everywhere with their uplifting music.
