Lovejoy had their first-ever performance at Reading & Leeds Festival 2023, and they’re already seeing the benefits of their devoted fanbase. The indie four-piece opened up about their adoring fans, their recent UK and US tours, and their plans for new music in a backstage interview with NME.

Frontman Wilbur Soot shared his appreciation for the unwavering loyalty of their fans, otherwise known as their “season ticket holders”. He noted the clear difference between their UK and US audiences, noting that the US fans are louder, but quieter when he speaks – perhaps it’s the British accent that charms them.

The group also discussed their recent EP ‘Wake Up & It’s Over’, which received an overwhelming response from their fans. They shared that their main goal is to make something good enough that their fans stick around.

Lovejoy also teased that they are currently writing new music, although they kept all details about the project firmly under wraps. They promised that new music is on the way, and encouraged their fans to stay tuned for more.
