The indie trio, Haim, recently opened up to fans at their All Points East show in London on Monday, August 29th, about their love and appreciation for London and the UK, and how it has played a major role in the success of their career.
The group, composed of sisters Danielle, Alana, and Este Haim, have come a long way since their first album, Days Are Gone, was released ten years ago. Alana Haim revealed to the crowd that the group had to start from the bottom, playing in parking lots and any venue that would let them open for other bands, but no one wanted to sign them.
Alana further explained how the group finally got their big break when a rumor of their single ‘Forever’ being played on XFM spread, and they decided to take a chance and fly to London. It was at their first show after signing to Polydor Records where they heard their fans singing back the lyrics to ‘Forever’, and they knew that this was where they belonged.
The band expressed their gratitude for their fans and the UK for embracing them and their music, and credited this as the reason why they are still creating and performing music today. They are excited to be playing shows to larger crowds and are looking forward to their upcoming show at the Shepherd’s Bush Empire on Thursday, August 31st, where they will be performing their entire first album.
The Haim sisters have mastered the art of making music and being rockstars, and it is evident through their amazing performances and countless awards, that the UK is their spiritual home and the place where they found success. Fans of the group can purchase tickets to their upcoming show on their website and experience a night of music and memories.
