Miley Cyrus has opened up about a heartbreaking experience she faced while filming for the popular show, Black Mirror. The singer, who starred in the show’s fifth season as Ashley O, revealed her Malibu home was destroyed in the Woolsey Fire of 2018 – while she was shooting her episode in South Africa.
Speaking in her TikTok series, Used To Be Young, Miley says the incident has caused her to have anxiety-filled dreams since. She described how her visions would consist of her being strapped to a gurney, but didn’t realise the reason for them until her home had been destroyed.
The Woolsey Fire was particularly devastating, killing three people and damaging over 1,600 structures. Miley, who was living with her then-partner Liam Hemsworth during this time, expressed her gratitude that her animals and partner made it out safely.
Miley bravely continued with filming for Black Mirror, performing the song ‘On A Roll’ the day after her house was lost. The show recently returned for its sixth season in June this year, with stars such as Aaron Paul, Salma Hayek, Josh Hartnett and Zazie Beetz appearing.
Miley’s TikTok series is a testament to her resilience and bravery, as she opens up for her fans about her experience and how it has affected her life.
