Miley Cyrus recently opened up in her TikTok series Used To Be Young about how her house in Malibu was destroyed by the Woolsey Fire of 2018, while she was filming for Black Mirror in South Africa. She revealed that the devastation of the fire left her with a recurring dream of being strapped to a gurney anytime she was to perform.
The 2018 Woolsey Fire, which raged in Los Angeles and Ventura County in California, took the lives of three people and devastated over 1,600 structures. While her house was one of the structures destroyed, thankfully Cyrus, her animals, and her then partner Liam Hemsworth were all unharmed.
In the Used To Be Young series, Cyrus described how despite the difficult tragedy her show still had to go on, as she showed a clip of her as fictional popstar Ashley O performing ‘On A Roll’.
Black Mirror returned for its sixth season in June of 2020 with an all-star cast including Aaron Paul, Salma Hayek, Josh Hartnett, and Zazie Beetz. In the aftermath of the Woolsey Fire, Cyrus took to Twitter to express her gratitude for what she still had left, and that the memories shared with family and friends would stand strong.
