Rock fans around the world have been thrilled to learn that AC/DC are set to perform at Power Trip festival in October. This will be the band’s first live show in seven years. This legendary event will be held over three days at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, the same venue as Coachella, and will feature performances from Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, Iron Maiden and Tool.

While AC/DC’s drummer Phil Rudd will not be joining the band for this performance, he will be replaced by Matt Laug. Bassist Cliff Williams will also be making a special appearance, coming out of retirement for the gig. Lead vocalist Brian Johnson will also be returning to the stage after being replaced by Axl Rose for their last tour.

To get fans excited about the performance, the band released audio from their rehearsals on Twitter. The tweet stated, “PWR UP for Power Trip! Listen to the rehearsal of the boys powering up with Cliff Williams, who’s coming out of retirement for the festival and Matt Laug on drums.” This line-up is made up of Johnson on vocals, Williams on bass, and Angus and Stevie Young on guitar.

Originally, the festival was set to feature Ozzy Osbourne, but he was unfortunately forced to pull out due to health issues. Nevertheless, fans are sure to be in for a treat as AC/DC hit the stage.

The band’s music has also been helping Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky during the war with Russia. In an interview with CNN, he revealed that he listens to AC/DC, Guns N’ Roses, and Eric Clapton as a form of distraction to help him cope with the political turmoil.
