Plain White T’s have announced the release of their brand new self-titled album, set for release on November 17th via Fearless Records. The Chicago-based pop punk band has shared a fourth single from the LP, titled ‘Red Flags’, and its accompanying music video.
Lead singer, Tom Higgenson, explains that the song is about the feeling of being in a relationship and not being sure if it’s true love or not. “Sometimes you get so lost in love and all the good things you ignore the bad things and that’s what ‘Red Flags’ is. I’m daydreaming about her but there are all these red flags that I am ignoring,” Higgenson said.
The new album, ‘Plain White T’s’, marks the band’s ninth studio album and first full-length release since 2018’s ‘Parallel Universe’. Higgenson says the album was made in order to “hark back to sounds [they] have used in the past with a freshness”. With the new album, they wanted to sound like the Plain White T’s, but in a new and unique way.
The track list for ‘Plain White T’s’ includes a range of songs such as ‘Young Tonight’, ‘Would You Even’, ‘Fired Up’, ‘A Little Less Alone’, ‘L-O-V-E’, ‘Someone’s Out There Waiting’, ‘Girl From Pasadena’, ‘Happy’, ‘Love Keeps Growing’, ‘Feeling (More Like) Myself’, and ‘Spaghetti Tattoo’.
In 2019, the Plain White T’s returned to the UK for the Slam Dunk Festival. After the announcement, Higgenson said that the band were looking forward to performing their new songs for the UK audience. He said, “The album just came out in August and one of our goals was to get back overseas and be able to play some shows. So this is like the first time we’ve been able to do that, it’s like, ‘Alright, we’re getting there, we’re checkin’ off our boxes and making our goals happen’. It should be really fun.”
The Plain White T’s highly-anticipated self-titled album is ready to be pre-ordered and will be released on November 17th, 2020. Fans of the band can look forward to enjoying a new set of music that promises to be an exciting and unique experience.
