Travis Barker from Blink-182 surprised a fan with a special gift on the opening day of the band’s European tour.
The legendary pop-punk trio kicked off their 2023 tour last Friday (September 8) in Antwerp, Belgium. Ahead of taking to the stage at the Sportpaleis Antwerpen arena, Barker made his way to the queue of fans waiting outside to surprise one concertgoer.
The lucky fan had made a cardboard sign that read: “Can I have a drumstick?” Barker happily obliged and handed him a pair of drumsticks, and the fan became emotional over the unique gift. Footage of the special moment was shared on Barker’s official TikTok, with the recipient of the sticks writing: “This was the happiest moment of my entire life! thank you forever ❤️❤️❤️.”
Earlier this month, Blink-182 were forced to postpone headline shows in Glasgow, Belfast and Dublin due to “an urgent family matter”. Although the European leg of the band’s ongoing world tour has since resumed, the band has been teasing new music with a series of cryptic posters and a website.
Tom DeLonge previously teased that the as-yet-unannounced record could be the group’s “best” and “most progressive”, and last month DeLonge said that the album was “only weeks (days) away”. Fans can now look forward to hearing more new material from Blink-182, with remaining tickets for their London, Birmingham and Manchester shows available now.
