K-pop star Jennie of BLACKPINK is preparing to release new solo music for the first time since her debut single ‘Solo’ in November 2018. In her cover interview for the October 2023 edition of Harper’s Bazaar Korea, the idol and actress hinted that the new music would be “unique” and “the most Jennie”.
Jennie has already teased the audience with her solo song ‘You & Me (Moonlight)’ which she has been performing on the BLACKPINK’s world tour ‘Born Pink’. The singer also collaborated with The Weeknd and Lily-Rose Depp earlier this year on the song ‘One Of The Girls’ for the soundtrack of HBO series The Idol.
The K-pop singer’s solo career is emerging in an uncertain time for BLACKPINK. The group is currently in the midst of contract renewal discussions with their agency YG Entertainment, with reports that Jennie, along with bandmates Jisoo and Lisa, would not be renewing their contracts. YG Entertainment has not yet confirmed any details about the group’s contract renewal.
The Idol was cancelled by HBO after one season, and the network expressed their appreciation for the cast and crew’s hard work. Despite the show’s end, fans are thrilled for the release of Jennie’s upcoming solo music and can’t wait to see what she has in store.
