Oasis are celebrating the 25th anniversary of their beloved B-sides collection ‘The Masterplan’ with the release of an official lyric video for their classic track ‘Acquiesce’.
The iconic Manchester band are offering fans the chance to pre-order/pre-save the upcoming reissue of ‘The Masterplan’ before its November 3 release. The reissue will be available in various new formats.
The official video for ‘Acquiesce’ combines archival performance footage of Oasis with vintage, ’90s-inspired visuals, and allows viewers to read the song’s lyrics onscreen and an old-school TV set.
Originally released in 1998, ‘The Masterplan’ was an instant success. It charted at Number Two in the UK Official Album Chart and sold almost 122,000 copies in its first week. The compilation has since gone triple platinum and has sold over three million copies worldwide. ‘Acquiesce’ first appeared on the CD edition of ‘Some Might Say’, which became Oasis’ first UK Number One single in 1995.
The full tracklist for the remastered edition of ‘The Masterplan’ includes ‘Acquiesce’, ‘Underneath The Sky’, ‘Talk Tonight’, ‘Going Nowhere’, ‘Fade Away’, ‘The Swamp Song’, ‘I Am The Walrus – Live Glasgow Cathouse June ’94’, ‘Listen Up’, ‘Rockin’ Chair’, ‘Half The World Away’, ‘(It’s Good) To Be Free’, ‘Stay Young’, ‘Headshrinker’, and ‘The Masterplan’.
Oasis members Liam Gallagher and Noel Gallagher have both been busy with their solo projects during COVID lockdowns. Liam recently hinted to a fan that his next album is finished, while Noel revealed he has recorded an unreleased dance track with CamelPhat.
