Rihanna is making her long-awaited return to music, set to drop new tracks and embark on a worldwide tour in the near future.

The Barbadian artist behind hit singles such as ‘Don’t Stop’ and ‘Lift Me Up’ has signed a deal with Live Nation and is reportedly aiming to get her ninth studio album, dubbed ‘R9’, out soon. Reports of the singer’s upcoming projects have been circulating since 2018 when she teased fans with a video of a dog dancing to House Of Pain’s ‘Jump Around’ and the caption “Update: me listening to R9 by myself and refusing to release it.”

This year, Rihanna was reportedly set to embark on a tour before discovering she was expecting her second child, Riot Rose. She was also booked to headline Glastonbury 2023, before having to pull out due to her pregnancy. However, she is now set to headline the event in 2024.

In an interview with British Vogue, the 35-year-old artist expressed her need to “play” and have fun with music. “I have my ideas in my head, but I can’t say them out loud yet,” she said.

Rihanna released ‘Lift Me Up’ in 2022 as the lead single to the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack, a sombre ballad that paid tribute to the late actor Chadwick Boseman. She was the headlining act for the Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show in February and later revealed her second pregnancy to the world.

The singer-songwriter also made history this year when she became the first female to have ten songs reach one billion streams on Spotify.

Rihanna’s long-awaited comeback is sure to be one of the most anticipated events of the music industry in the coming years. Fans of the multi-talented artist are now eagerly waiting for news of her new music and tour.
