Lil Yachty has recently discussed Twitch streamers, claiming that many of them have incomes much higher than those of many rappers. Yachty, as well as Post Malone, are credited as two of the first rappers to appear on the streaming platform, back in 2017. This was disputed by Soulja Boy, who argued that he was the first rapper to stream on Twitch.
Kai Cenat, a famous Twitch streamer, recently achieved 300,000 subscribers in a single month, setting a new record. His success has earned him a net worth of $12 million (£9,852,960), while another popular streamer, Adin Ross, is worth a whopping $40 million (£32,830,000).
The Atlanta-based rapper also recently appeared in Drake’s music video for ‘Another Late Night’ from his album, ‘For All The Dogs’. The single was widely speculated to feature Yachty after he was spotted on set with the Canadian artist. Furthermore, his fifth full-length album, ‘Let’s Start Here’, has been praised by many as one of the best releases of 2023 so far.
It’s clear to see that Twitch streamers are becoming more and more successful – and it looks like Lil Yachty is one of the many people who are taking notice.
