Mick Mars, the former guitarist and co-founder of the iconic glam rock band Mötley Crüe, is set to release his debut solo album, ‘The Other Side of Mars’! Featuring a mix of heavy riffs and blistering leads, this project marks the musician’s first solo music since his departure from the band in 2022.

The lead single from the album, ‘Loyal to the Lie’, was released on October 31st and has already received a lot of praise from fans. The accompanying music video for the single features imagery from classic horror films and pictures of infamous serial killers, perfectly fitting with the Halloween spirit.

The title of the album refers to the two distinct sides of Mars’ playing style – the ‘Mötley side’ and the ‘Mars side’. “I always have a very clear vision of what I want to do,” he said in an interview. “My feeling has always been, I might gain some fans, I might lose some fans. But what they’re hearing, it’s all me.”

The album also features some of the best musicians in the industry: Jacob Bunton on vocals, Paul Taylor (formerly of Alice Cooper) on keyboards, Ray Luzier of Korn on drums, Chris Collier on bass, and Brion Gamboa on vocals.

Mick Mars’ solo album ‘The Other Side of Mars’ is set to be released on Friday 23rd February 2024, via 1313, LLC in partnership with MRI.

The guitarist left Mötley Crüe in October 2022 due to his struggle with Ankylosing Spondylitis (A.S.). In the same year, he filed a lawsuit against the band, claiming that he was “unilaterally” removed from the line-up after announcing his retirement from touring. In response, Sasha Frid, the band’s litigation lawyer said: “Mick’s lawsuit is unfortunate and completely off-base.”

With this new solo album, Mick Mars is looking to keep growing and creating, and fans are sure to appreciate his passion and dedication. Pre-order ‘The Other Side of Mars’ here and be sure to listen to the lead single ‘Loyal to the Lie’ now.
