Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds are getting ready to mix their highly anticipated upcoming album, the acclaimed singer confirmed via Facebook. After concluding his North American solo tour, Cave is now heading to Buffalo to begin the mixing process of the album.
In July, the musician shared with fans that he was finishing the album with the band he’s been leading since 1983. In an entry on his Red Hand Files website, he let followers know of a short break from responding to questions as he worked on the project.
In September 2022, Cave will be performing at Cala Mijas Fest 2022 in Malaga, Spain, where fans can expect to hear some of the new music.
Fans of the Bad Seeds were gifted a sneak peek of the album in October last year when Cave confirmed he was starting the writing process in a Q&A at London’s Southbank Centre. Earlier this year, the singer shared some early lyric ideas and debuted a new song, ‘To Be Found’, at a concert in Chicago.
Speaking to NME earlier this year, Cave described the new music as “instantly interesting” and “different all the time”. He also added that he doesn’t think the band can make “an old-school Bad Seeds record anymore where it’s basically a rock band playing”.
The Bad Seeds are not the only project Cave is working on. He recently joined forces with Blondie to cover The Gun Club’s Jeffrey Lee Pierce’s ‘On The Other Side’, and he is also considering the possibility of releasing a new record with garage rock side project Grinderman.
Excitement is growing for the much-anticipated new record from Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. Fans are eager to hear the fresh music the band is creating and look forward to what’s in store for their next project.
