Prince‘s iconic album ‘Diamonds And Pearls’ is set for an expanded reissue, featuring 47 previously unreleased audio tracks and over two hours of live concert footage from the late singer’s vault. The remastered LP will be released on October 27.
The reissue includes a variety of remixes and B-sides from the era, such as the ‘Damn Near 10 Min’ mix of ‘Gett Off’, plus alternate versions of album tracks and songs Prince gave away to other artists. Fans can preview two of the remastered tracks from the album ahead of the release – ‘Alice Through The Looking Glass’ and ‘Insatiable (Early Mix – Full Version)’.
‘Diamonds And Pearls’ was the first album released by Prince with his backing band The New Power Generation, who he worked with until 2013. It went on to become his biggest selling non-soundtrack album of his career, and still remains his best-selling record in the UK.
The reissue follows 2019’s ‘1999’ and 2020’s ‘Sign O’The Times’. Meanwhile, Dr Dre recently spoke out about turning down the opportunity to work with Prince and Michael Jackson, saying, “What the fuck am I going to do with them? Those are my fucking heroes.”
Prince‘s legacy continues to live on through his music, and fans around the world are looking forward to the expanded reissue of ‘Diamonds And Pearls’.
