Today, British singer-songwriter Holly Humberstone and rising star Arlo Parks delighted fans with an impromptu duet of Holly’s ‘Room Service’ at Reading Festival 2023. The performance marked the first time the pair had collaborated on stage, and came as a surprise to the audience.
Taken from Humberstone’s upcoming debut album ‘Paint My Bedroom Black’, the track was written during her time touring full-time, when she was missing home and feeling like she was watching her friends live out their lives from a phone screen.
The show also saw the return of American rapper Lil Tjay, who had missed his set the previous day due to travel difficulties. He made up for it with a midday set, and the festival’s official X/Twitter account announced that all set times for the artist remained unchanged.
The night was headlined by Sam Fender, with the singer-songwriter receiving a five-star review from NME. Fender was described as a “mirror to the audience” and “belonging on this stage more than anyone”.
The festival continues today with performances from The 1975 and The Killers at Reading, while Leeds will see Sam Fender and Foals take to the stage.
