Kanye West fans have been eagerly awaiting new material from the superstar rapper and according to two trusted sources, the wait is almost over.
NBC News reports that West is preparing to drop some new music any day now. This news follows months of speculation that the artist had been hard at work in the studio on a new project.
The two sources were present with West and his wife Bianca Censori when the team were working on the project, but did not reveal whether the new material would come in the form of an album or just a single.
If the new material does turn out to be a full-length album, it will mark West’s first official studio record since 2021’s ‘Donda’, which featured guest appearances from Marilyn Manson, Jay-Z, The Weeknd and more.
The rumours of new music began to gain traction last month when collaborator and rapper Rooga revealed that “he’s working on an album” in an interview. Ice Cube also added to the speculation when he told Piers Morgan that West is now “doing great” and planning on re-emerging “on the other side”.
The project was further validated by Fya Man, one of West’s producers, who conducted an AMA session on Reddit and confirmed to fans that an album was in the works. He also described it as “fire” and said the currently untitled LP sounds like “the ‘Old Ye’ but new with the times”.
The new music is sure to be a hit amongst West’s fans, who have been eagerly awaiting new material from the artist for some time. Sunday (August 27) saw Taylor Swift make a reference to the rapper at her live show in New Mexico, while Travis Scott brought West out on stage at his special Circus Maximus show in Rome.
