Taylor Swift recently reached a major milestone, becoming the first female artist to hit 100 million monthly listeners on Spotify. The singer, whose career has skyrocketed in the past three years with the release of new and re-released albums, is still behind The Weeknd, who has the most monthly listeners on the streaming service with more than 110 million.

Spotify celebrated the achievement with a post on social media, writing “Queen behavior. On August 29th, Taylor Swift became the first female artist in Spotify history to reach 100 million monthly listeners.”

Swift is set to release ‘1989 (Taylor’s Version)’ as the latest re-recorded album on October 27, 2023, the ninth anniversary of the original 2014 LP. The announcement has caused a surge in streams of the original album. On social media, Swift called the album her “most FAVORITE re-record [she’s] ever done” while teasing five “insane” ‘From The Vault’ tracks that are yet to be announced.

The pop star is also on tour in Mexico, where she seemingly made reference to the Kanye West VMAs incident during one of her Mexico City shows. While speaking to the audience, Swift commented on the best way to be interrupted, jokingly saying “It’s really the only way to be interrupted, and I would know.” This lighthearted joke was met with cheers from the crowd.

Taylor Swift has made her mark on the music industry, consistently pushing boundaries and showing no signs of slowing down. Her latest milestone is a testament to her success, and fans can’t wait for the upcoming release of ‘1989 (Taylor’s Version).’
