Elon Musk is no stranger to making headlines and his latest venture is no exception. The tech mogul recently purchased Twitter and, according to his partner Grimes, he stayed up all night playing video game ‘Elden Ring’ to cope with the stress.
The game has gained widespread critical acclaim and has been described by NME’s Andy Brown as a “towering sum of its parts”. It has been described as an open-world, with innovative difficulty changes and engaging boss fights.
Grimes shared that Musk had flown out to Vancouver to meet her parents last April at the same time he was weighing up on whether or not to make an offer to acquire Twitter. She ended up leaving him at the hotel because he was “in stress mode”. After making the decision to buy the social media platform, Elon Musk turned to gaming as an outlet, playing ‘Elden Ring’ on a laptop he’d brought to the hotel until 5:30am.
Not long after his gaming session, Musk made his purchase of Twitter official by tweeting “I made an offer”.
In other Elon Musk news, X/Twitter has now allowed political advertising again in a reversal of a pre-Elon Musk policy. This was done in order to preserve free and open political discourse and comes with a commitment to prohibiting the promotion of false or misleading content.
Musk’s latest venture has certainly been a headline-grabber and the tech mogul continues to make waves in the media. With his purchase of Twitter, Musk also showed us how gaming can be used to relieve stress.
