Olivia Rodrigo is set to take the stage at the 2023 MTV VMAs next week. The multi-talented singer, who released her highly anticipated second album ‘Guts’ on Friday, will be performing alongside Måneskin, Doja Cat, and more at the star-studded event on September 12. This marks Rodrigo’s second performance at the VMAs, after her 2021 debut of ‘Good 4 U’.
In addition to her performance, Rodrigo is also nominated for six awards at the ceremony for her single ‘Vampire’, including Video of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Pop, Best Cinematography, and Best Editing. She is up against a star-studded lineup of fellow nominees, with Taylor Swift leading the pack with eight nominations, followed closely by SZA, Doja Cat, Kim Petras, Miley Cyrus, Nicki Minaj, and Sam Smith with five each.
At the ceremony, Shakira will be presented with the Video Vanguard Award, while Diddy will receive the Global Icon Award and perform. Reviewers have praised Rodrigo’s new album ‘Guts’, calling her “a display of real power, range and versatility – all of which Rodrigo possesses in abundance.” Fans of Rodrigo and music lovers alike can’t wait to see the singer hit the stage for the VMAs next week.
