South Korean singer BIBI has unveiled the stunning visuals for her new single ‘Hongdae R&B’. The music video for the track captures the emotive power of love, with a couple dancing passionately in an alley before BIBI strolls through the same alley surrounded by people having fun, taking pictures and talking.
The track is a declaration of the reality of relationships, with the chorus repeating: “It’s ruined, it’s ruined, thrown away / Just like me, just like you / A toothless neighbourhood / A high price for no reason / Just like me, oh oh.”
The single is part of a double-release, alongside ‘Hangang Gongwon’, which also has an accompanying music video. This is BIBI’s first release since April, when she dropped the promotional single ‘I Am Shampoo’ with Korean haircare brand Just As I Am. Before this, the singer treated fans to her debut studio album ‘Lowlife Princess: Noir’, which was met with widespread critical acclaim in 2022.
In addition to her musical career, BIBI has also made her mark on the acting world, appearing in films such as Whispering Corridors 6: The Humming, Phantom and Hopeless. She will soon be starring in the crime-thriller series The Worst of Evil, premiering on Disney+ this month.
