Take That have announced the release of their ninth studio album, ‘This Life’, and a huge UK and Ireland tour for next Spring/Summer. Fans have had a taste of the upcoming album with the release of their first single in five years, ‘Windows’.

The group – Gary Barlow, Howard Donald and Mark Owen – premiered the song on BBC Radio 2 this morning (September 22) where they discussed their next chapter. Barlow spoke of the excitement of new music, and how the band is embracing their current sound. ‘Windows’ was produced by Grammy-winner Dave Cobb in Nashville, Tennessee and further sessions took place in Electric Lady Studios in New York City.

The trio have stated that ‘This Life’ has a southern influence, and that the record features plenty of vocal harmonies. Tickets for their upcoming UK and Ireland tour will go on general sale next Friday (September 29), with a pre-sale on Wednesday (September 27). Olly Murs will also be present as a “very special guest” support act.

The tour will kick off in mid-April and will include four nights at The O2 in London. Other arenas and stadiums across the UK and Ireland will also be visited. Fans can pre-order ‘This Life’ for access to the pre-sale before 10am on Tuesday (September 26).

Take That last released an album in 2017, titled ‘Wonderland’. They then released three new songs, ‘Out Of Our Heads’, ‘Spin’ and ‘Everlasting’, as part of a 2018 greatest hits collection, ‘Odyssey’. They headlined the BST Hyde Park concert series in London this July.

The band stated “It’s been a wonderful experience being back in the studio together making this record. It has that feeling of spreading your wings, letting out the old and bringing in the new. We’re incredibly proud of the new album – there’s a sense of togetherness, whether that’s us coming back together as a band or people wanting connection in their own lives. We’re excited for this new chapter!”
