Grammy Award-winning artist Usher is set to take the stage for the Apple Music Super Bowl Half Time Show, which will take place at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on February 11, 2024. This will mark the first time Usher headlines a show at a Super Bowl.
In a statement shared with Billboard, Usher expressed his enthusiasm for the opportunity. “It’s an honour of a lifetime to finally check a Super Bowl performance off my bucket list. I can’t wait to bring the world a show unlike anything else they’ve seen from me before. Thank you to the fans and everyone who made this opportunity happen. I’ll see you real soon,” he said.
The NFL’s Head of Music Seth Dudowsky also shared his excitement for Usher’s upcoming performance. “Usher is an icon whose music has left an indelible mark on the cultural landscape throughout his career,” Dudowsky said. “We couldn’t be more excited to have him headline this year’s Apple Music Super Bowl Half Time Show. We look forward to working with Usher, Roc Nation and Apple Music to bring fans another Halftime Show for the history books.”
Roc Nation founder Jay-Z echoed this sentiment, praising Usher’s career thus far. “Ever since his debut at the age of 15, he’s been charting his own unique course. Beyond his flawless singing and exceptional choreography, Usher bares his soul. His remarkable journey has propelled him to one of the grandest stages in the world. I can’t wait to see the magic,” Jay-Z said.
As if that wasn’t enough, Usher’s performance at the Super Bowl Half Time Show coincides with the release date of his upcoming album ‘Coming Home’. This will be the singer’s first album release in four years.
The Super Bowl Half Time Show will also feature performances from other notable artists, like Rihanna’s 2023 performance and Dr. Dre’s 2022 event, which featured special guests Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, Snoop Dogg and Mary J. Blige.
