Last night, legendary country singer Shania Twain joined the Foo Fighters on stage for a surprise duet of their classic track ‘Best Of You’ during their show at Austin City Limits.
Twain had earlier performed her own set at the festival, and was then invited by frontman Dave Grohl to join the band for their performance of the 2005 hit single.
The Foos have been joined by a number of special guests on their current tour, including Billy Idol, Paramore’s Hayley Williams, and Alanis Morissette. Fans were in awe of the moment, with one tweeting: “The fact Shania Twain left her set and was able to get on stage with the Foo Fighters is soooo iconic. Wow!”
The band appeared to tease the collaboration earlier in the week, posting a cryptic message and short video to their social media accounts featuring a spinning compass with the band’s logo in the middle and soundtracked by the song ‘Nothing At All’, from their latest album ‘But Here We Are’.
The group then announced a North American stadium tour for 2024, as part of their ‘Everything Or Nothing’ tour, which will kick off in July with a two-night run at New York’s Citi Field.
The Foo Fighters’ ‘Everything Or Nothing’ tour will also visit Denver’s Empower Field at Mile High, Petco Park in San Diego, and BMO Stadium in Los Angeles. Supporting acts will include the Pretenders, Mammoth WVH, The Hives, Alex G, Amyl and the Sniffers, and L7.
Tickets for the tour are now available, and fans can find more information on the official Foo Fighters website.
The tour follows the release of their 11th studio album, ‘But Here We Are’, in June, which marked the band’s first record since the death of drummer Taylor Hawkins in 2022. The band has been performing a number of shows and festival headline sets, including a touching secret performance at this year’s Glastonbury Festival.
